The British Beekeepers' Association has confirmed that an Asian hornet (Vespa velutina) nest has been found and destroyed in Ascot, Berkshire.

In a post shared on social media, they thanked National Bee Unit Inspectors for tracking down the location of the nest.

Efforts are continuing to locate any further Asian hornets in the area.

Further details are expected to be issued by the government.
